First and foremost, you must understand the process of coffee preparation. Without the Best Coffee Machine you can't have good coffee for preparing one.The first step in enjoying a good cup of coffee is roast the coffee bean, which chemically transforms the green coffee bean into the deep, dark brown appearance we’ve all grown to love. The coffee roasting process can be accomplished in many ways. These methods include the very simple (i.e., kitchen frying pan, oven, popcorn popper, grill) to the more advanced (i.e., an appliance aptly called a "coffee roaster"). If you are not feeling especially ambitious, pre-roasted whole coffee beans are readily available at your local grocery or specialty store.
2. The next step is the most important: milling or grinding the coffee beans. The four most common coffee grinding methods are chopping, pounding, roller grinder and burr-grinding. Do yourself a favor: burr-grind your coffee.
3. Like the name implies, burr grinder coffee makers have two revolving wheels or conical "grinders" which crush and tear the coffee bean. Conical grinders have the added advantage of slowly rotating steel burrs that reduce the friction associated with grinding, thereby maximizing the coffee bean aroma. Although a little more expensive, you should really invest in a burr grinder like the one in the reference section. It has been called the diesel of home coffee grinders. Nice!
4. Next, boil fresh water to add to your coffee maker. Do not just fill it with tap water. Why oh why would you do that! The water must achieve the proper temperature to experience the best flavor from the coffee.
5. Last, but certainly not least, drink the coffee. Coffee deteriorates if left heating too long. That’s why I drink my coffee fast and furiously. Join me, why don’t you?
